Hi, I’m Gus. (Angus) I’m based in Naarm (Melbourne) and I’m a film-maker and photographer. I make films; I write, direct, shoot & edit. I’ve been a professional cinematographer for over 25 years, and for the last 10 years or so, I’ve been writing & directing. You might ask why I switched? Well, I love stories & I love performing. I play drums, keyboards & I sing! Okay, I admit it, I was a child actor. My love of performing has never gone away.
I’ve spent years making documentaries, music videos (I’ve shot over 100!), and working within the Australian arts community, mainly with DANCE, MUSIC & the VISUAL ARTS. I’ve honed a visual style & a musicality in my work that’s helped Dance Companies, Artists & Musicians promote themselves to presenters, curators, broadcasters, distributors & to the general public.
So, what does Films for the Senses actually mean? Well I’m talking about sensual mediums here. Images, performance, music . These things take us places. They carry us away. But they also connect us. They draw us into an emotional experience. Sometimes comfortable & sometimes not. Hey, that’s life. I’m here for the full gamut. What are you here for?
